Victor Osimhen continued his resurgence as Napoli thrashed Lazio 5-2 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Thursday night.
Having struggled to deliver in the first five months of the season due to a combination of injuries and loss of form, the Nigeria international extended his rich vein of form by getting on the scoresheet against Lazio.
Osimhen replaced Dries Mertens with nineteen minutes left on the clock and nine minutes after his introduction he was celebrating a goal.
The Napoli number 9 smashed a shot inside the near post for Napoli's fifth goal.
The Blues other scorers were Lorenzo Insigne (2), Matteo Politano and Dries Mertens, while Ciro Immobile and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic reduced the arrears for the visitors.
Osimhen has now netted six goals in the Italian top-flight, with four in his last eight games, and has provided two assists.
Tonight's victory takes Napoli to within three points of AC Milan, who are second in the table, with six games to play.
