'Lesson for everybody not to give up' - Super Eagles Head of Scouting on Leicester striker Iheanacho
Published: May 01, 2021
Gernot Rohr's chief scout, Tunde Adelakun is delighted with the progress made by Kelechi Iheanacho at Leicester City in 2020-2021.
The English-based talent spotter revealed that he advised the Manchester City academy product to always have faith in his abilities in the wake of his axing from the Super Eagles squad to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Iheanacho didn't do badly the season after the AFCON, scoring ten goals in all competitions for the Foxes despite his limited game time but has taken his game to another level this term, with a goal involvement of 23 (17 goals, 6 assists).
Describing Iheanacho's form, Super Eagles head of scouting, Adelakun said in interview with TVC News monitored by allnigeriasoccer.com : "Kelechi is a hard worker, he's a very talented, naturally gifted player, so his form, his goals, don't come to us a surprise.
"He has an eye for goal, he's very intelligent as a football player.
"I'm very happy that he's managed to come into his own and score the goals that he has done, a pride for everybody, and a very good lesson for everybody not to give up".
