Nigeria captain comes off bench as Barca beat PSG to set up meeting with Chelsea in UWCL final
Published: May 02, 2021Barcelona defeated French side Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 in the second leg of their semifinal on Sunday afternoon to set up a meeting with Chelsea in the UEFA Women's Champions League final.
Asisat Oshoala's injury problems are well and truly over with manager Lluís Cortés introducing her off the bench for the final eleven minutes - her third consecutive match since recovering from a foot surgery.
Barcelona took an early two-goal lead, through their Netherlands international Lieke Martens.
Marie-Antoinette Katoto halved the deficit for the visitors when she prodded in from close range in the 34th minute after a corner was not properly cleared.
Oshoala was booked in the 85th minute for a foul on goalkeeper PSG goalkeeper Endler.
The Nigeria captain came close to making it 3-1 in the 90th minute but her shot was saved by the legs of the goalkeeper after she raced onto a long ball over the top.
Barcelona and Chelsea will face off in the Champions League showpiece on May 16 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
