Serie A Team of the Week: Napoli star Osimhen partners Real Madrid loanee in attack
Published: May 10, 2021
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has been named to Whoscored.com's Italian Serie A Team of the Week for his performance against Spezia.
Napoli thrashed Spezia 4-1 at the Stadio Alberto Picco (La Spezia) on Saturday with the Nigeria international involved in three goals - scoring twice and setting up the last goal of the game.
It was an important win for manager Gennaro Gattuso as it keeps his team in the running for a Champions League spot three matches to the end of the season.
Osimhen is among the likes of Chelsea loanee Fikayo Tomori, ex-Manchester United star Henrikh Mkhitaryan, ex-Real Madrid left-back Theo Hernandez, Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini and others who had an outstanding performance in the last round of matches.
In the Team of the Week, the Super Eagles star, rated at 8.96, is partnered in attack by Real Madrid-owned Borja Mayoral, who bagged a brace against Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo's already-relegated Crotone.
Of the three shots played by Osimhen vs Spezia, two ended up in the back of the net, the number 9 made one key pass, had a 60 percent passing accuracy, and won three fouls.
Defensively, the 2015 U17 World Cup winner won two tackles and committed four fouls.
