Confirmed : Port Vale retain Amoo for next season, Olagunju returns to Huddersfield Town
Published: May 10, 2021
It is that time of the year when Football League clubs start publishing their retained and released list, following the conclusion of the season.
Through their official website, League Two club Port Vale have confirmed that Liverpool academy product David Amoo is one of the players retained for the 2021-2022 season.
The winger ended the campaign with 29 appearances in all competitions for The Valiants, scoring one goal and assisting two others.
Amoo is contracted to Port Vale until the end of next season; the 30-year-old lists Preston North End, Tranmere Rovers, Carlisle United, Partick Thistle and Cambridge United as his previous clubs.
Meanwhile, Mustapha Olagunju has returned to his parent club Huddersfield Town on conclusion of his loan deal.
One of the promising central defenders of Nigerian descent in England, Olagunju played six games for Port Vale in the League Two, logging 131 minutes.
The 19-year-old made his professional debut for Huddersfield Town against Plymouth in the third round of the FA Cup back in January and was an unused substitute for Championship games on three occasions prior to his loan move in February.
