Leicester City hero : Vardy will be happy Iheanacho is scoring from his assists
Published: May 15, 2021Danny Simpson, a member of Leicester City's Premier League title-winning team in 2016, has revealed that Jamie Vardy will be delighted that Kelechi Iheanacho is benefiting from his key passes.
While Iheanacho has scored thirteen goals in his last twelve appearances across all competitions, Vardy is struggling for goals with one in his last sixteen outings.
In the last eight matches in the English top-flight, Vardy has set up three of the eight goals netted by the Nigeria national teamer.
The former England striker always creates spaces for Iheanacho which makes it easy for the Nigerian to make runs behind the defence.
"We talk about the goals that he (Vardy) scores, but his workrate is second to none," Simpson said on talkSPORT.
"He’ll be a little bit frustrated that he’s probably not scoring at the moment, but we’re also seeing a new side to his game.
"He’s setting up Kelechi (Iheanacho) and he’ll be happy for him. That’s just the way he is."

Iheanacho and Vardy are expected to continue their partnership in attack when Leicester City face off with Chelsea in the final of the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday, starting from 1715 hours.
