Everton remain interested in signing Nigeria Football Federation target
English Premier League side Everton are still interested in signing Bayern Munich striker Joshua Zirkzee, according to reports.

The Netherlands youth international of Nigerian descent spent the second of the 2020-2021 season on loan at Italian Serie A club Parma but the transfer did not work out as expected due to a medial collateral ligament injury that he suffered that saw him miss the last ten matches of the season.

Zirkzee, who appeared in four matches off the bench, joined Parma on loan in the winter transfer market with an option to buy him outright set at fifteen million euros.

Transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano says Zirkzee is one hundred percent coming back to FC Bayern after his loan spell at Parma and Everton have been interested in signing him since last January.

The good news is that the Dutch-Nigerian doesn't require surgery after his surgery and Bayern Munich will decide his future during the pre-season.

Zirkzee trained with Everton before joining Bayern Munich's youth team in the summer of 2017.

The Nigerian Federation and Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr are keeping tabs on the 20-year-old with a view to a call-up to the national team if he switches his allegiances to Nigeria.
