Turkish giants Galatasaray target Super Eagles invitee as potential replacement for Onyekuru
Published: May 29, 2021
Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray have identified new Super Eagles invitee Abraham Marcus as a potential summer transfer target, according to reports.
The Istanbul giants are preparing to bid farewell to two Nigeria internationals in Stoke City-owned midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo and Monaco loanee Henry Onyekuru whose contracts with the club expire in the next two days.
According to Fotomac, Galatasaray want CD Feirense star Marcus to fill one of the winger positions which will be vacated by Onyekuru.
The vice chairman of Galatasaray Abdurrahim Albayrak has asked for a detailed scouting report on Marcus ahead of a potential move for the Nigerian.
It is claimed that Albayrak is interested in signing the 21-year-old because he would cost less than one million euros coupled with the fact that he is a young player.
Marcus was promoted to CD Feirense's first team at the start of the 2020-2021 campaign and netted 11 goals in 27 appearances over the course of the season.
He still has two years left on his contract with Feirense who finished fifth in the Segunda Division in the recently concluded season.
