Iheanacho battles Tielemans, Thomas, Albrighton, 4 others for Leicester City Goal of the Month
Published: June 01, 2021
Kelechi Iheanacho is in the running for Leicester City's Goal of the Month award for May 2021, informs the official website of the Foxes.
The Nigeria international's beautiful strike in a surprise 4-2 loss to Newcastle United at the King Power Stadium on May 7 has been shortlisted for the monthly prize.
Three minutes from time, Iheanacho further reduced the deficit with an accurate strike through the legs of Matt Ritchie.
His effort is one of eight goals in contention for Leicester City's Goal of the Month.
Goals from Leicester Women trio Hannah Cain, Shannon O'Brien and Natasha Flint, development squad star Kasey McAteer, first teamers Youri Tielemans, Marc Albrighton and Luke Thomas have also made the shortlist.
Last month, Iheanacho scored twice in five appearances across all competitions for the Foxes, with his other effort netted against Chelsea in the Premier League.
The former Manchester City wonderkid won Leicester City's Goal of the Season accolade for his stunning strike in the 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace on April 26.
