German Bundesliga clubs showing interest in Super Eagles striker Simy
Published: June 06, 2021
Crotone sporting director Beppe Ursino has revealed that the club's all-time top scorer Simy is attracting interest from the German Bundesliga.
The Nigeria international is being tipped to end a five-year association with The Sharks before the close of the summer transfer window following their relegation to the second-tier.
Simy has also been linked with possible moves to clubs in the Italian Serie A, English Premier League and French Ligue 1 but he's keen to test himself in the English top-flight.
The 29-year-old has put himself in the shop window, scoring 20 goals in 38 games with Crotone last season.
In quotes relayed by Tuttomercatoweb citing Italian sports newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Ursino stated : "He has requests from Serie A, but above all from the Bundesliga".
According to Transfermarkt, Simy's current market value is eight million euros, around the same fee Crotone are looking at selling him for this summer.
Simy was the top scoring Nigerian player in Europe's top five leagues in 2020-2021, six more than Lorient's Terem Moffi and eight more than Leicester City's Kelechi Iheanacho.
