Former Flying Eagles star Taiwo Awoniyi has seen his stock rise following a number of strong displays for Union Berlin in the German Bundesliga in the recently concluded season.
According to the latest market value updates by Transfermarkt published on Wednesday, June 9, the Liverpool-owned striker is now valued at five million euros - the highest market value he has attained since turning professional.
Awoniyi was one of the players kept on by Liverpool for the forthcoming season and manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to make a decision whether to retain him in the squad after checking him out during the pre-season.
The Imperial Academy product was valued at €4.5m on February 10, 2021, prior to today's update.
The 23-year-old is the 1,590th most expensive player in the world, 20th among all players from Nigeria and 228th most valuable center forward.
Awoniyi's talent convinced Liverpool to sign him in the summer of 2015, before loan spells at FSV Frankfurt, NEC Nijmegen, Royal Excel Mouscron, KAA Gent, Mainz 05 and Union Berlin due to work permit issues which have now been sorted out.
Last season, the 2013 U17 World Cup winner directly participated in eight goals (5 goals, 3 assists) in twenty-one Bundesliga matches for Union Berlin.
