Ex-Arsenal defender Omole likes Tottenham's social media post wishing Christian Eriksen well
Published: June 12, 2021
Tobi Omole has liked a social media post by Tottenham Hotspur wishing their former player Christian Eriksen well following the unfortunate incident that happened just before half-time in Denmark's 2020 European Championship clash against Finland at Parken in Copenhagen on Saturday.
A central defender by trade, Omole was on the books of Arsenal for six years before swapping the Gunners for Tottenham Hotspur last summer.
Eriksen, now at Inter Milan, scared the whole world when he fell to the ground under no pressure from an opposing player, which made the English referee Anthony Taylor to signal for the medical staff to come on.
The Denmark star received CPR from the medical staff before he was stretchered off the pitch.
The Danish Football Association has confirmed that Eriksen is now in stable condition and was taken to a local hospital for more tests.
Tottenham Hotspur, where Eriksen spent seven years, were quick to react, sending a message of support to the player and his family.
The north London club posted on Instagram : "All of our thoughts are with Christian Eriksen and his family."
The post has been liked by 498,666 Instagram users, including Omole, who was still at Arsenal when Eriksen moved to Inter Milan in January 2020.
The 2020 European Championship match between Denmark and Finland later resumed, with The Eagle-owls winning 1-0 thanks to Joel Pohjanpalo's 59th minute strike.
