Turkish club make offer to sign Vancouver Whitecaps' Nigerian-born striker
Turkish First League club Menemenspor are interested in signing Nigerian-born center forward David Egbo in the summer transfer window, according to reports.

Turkish sports daily Fanatik says Menemenspor have made a transfer offer to sign Egbo, who plays for Major League Soccer club Vancouver Whitecaps.

Menemenspor are hoping to strike terms with Egbo over a deal after transfer talks are held next week.

Born in Kaduna and raised in Enugu , the 22-year-old was selected ninth overall by Whitecaps FC in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft out of the University of Akron.

In three seasons at Akron, he bagged 21 goals and 13 assists in 35 starts and 56 appearances, and has also featured for Black Rock FC.

Former Golden Eaglets stars Ibrahim Alhassan and Simon Zenke, and Rasheed Akanbi, who is an attacker, wore the colours of Menemenspor last season.

Menemenspor finished fifteenth in the Turkish First League in the 2020-2021 campaign.
