Rangers boss Gerrard starts running the rule over former Flying Eagles star
Glasgow Rangers coaching staff led by Steven Gerrard has started running the rule over new signing Nnamdi Ofoborh, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

The Scottish champions secured the future registration of the former Nigeria U20 international by signing him on a pre-contract early February after the defensive midfielder turned down a new deal at Bournemouth.

Rangers players reported back for pre-season training at the Rangers Training Center on Monday, June 28, and Ofoborh was among the players in attendance.

Other Nigerian players involved in the team's first workout were Joe Aribo, who has presumably returned to fitness after pulling out of the Super Eagles squad to face Cameroon, and left-back Calvin Bassey.

Ofoborh will have to step up his fitness significantly during pre-season as he didn't play much last season, with his last competitive appearance coming against Preston North End more than three months ago.

His four-year deal with Rangers will begin on July 1, upon the expiration of his contract with Bournemouth.

Ofoborh is in line to make his unofficial debut in one of the pre-season friendlies against Partick Thistle, Arsenal, Tranmere Rovers and Blackpool.
