Official : Chelsea confirm 2013 AFCON winner has ended nine-year association with club
Published: July 02, 2021
Through their official website, European champions Chelsea have confirmed that Victor Moses has joined Spartak Moscow on a permanent deal.
Moses's transfer to the Russian Premier League side brings an end to his nine-year association with Chelsea, having arrived at Stamford Bridge from Wigan Athletic in 2012.
Moses was a key member of the Chelsea squad that won the Premier League under Italian manager Antonio Conte in 2016-2017, making 34 appearances in the top-flight, including 29 starts, following his transformation from a winger to wing-back.
The Crystal Palace academy product took in loan spells at Liverpool, Stoke City, West Ham, Fenerbahce, Inter Milan and Spartak Moscow during his time at Chelsea.
Spartak Moscow activated the mandatory purchase clause inserted into the loan deal that brought him to the Russian capital last October after their qualification for the UEFA Champions League.
The 2013 African Cup of Nations winner has put pen to paper on a two-year deal with Spartak Moscow, until May 31, 2023.
Last season, he made twenty appearances for the Red and Whites, scoring four goals and assisting four others.
