Brentford-bound midfielder Onyeka finally shows up for FCM training ahead of season opener
Published: July 15, 2021
Frank Onyeka has finally reported for training at Danish Superliga club FC Midtjylland, a day before their first competitive match of the new season against Odense Boldklub.
The Nigeria national teamer is strongly linked with a move to Premier League new boys Brentford and it is believed only the paperwork is delaying the deal.
Danish sports magazine Tipsbladet writes on its website that Onyeka was present at Thursday's training in Ikast.
However, the central midfielder was unable to train with the full squad, instead he underwent an individual session, fueling speculation that he is not in the plans of manager Bo Henriksen for Friday night's home game vs OB.
Onyeka participated in running exercises together with a Midtjylland staff
One of the players tipped to replace Onyeka in Midtjylland's midfield in the new season, Raphael Onyedika could be involved in some capacity against OB having given a good account of himself doing pre-season preparations.
Norwegian-Nigerian center forward Chuma Anene and David Akintola were spotted during the workout on Thursday.
