Rangers star Aribo misses friendly against Arsenal amid Premier League interest
Published: July 19, 2021
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Super Eagles star Joe Aribo is attracting concrete interest from an unnamed English Premier League this summer.
Aribo's name was conspicuously missing from Glasgow Rangers' matchday squad for their high-profile friendly against Arsenal at Ibrox Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Rangers manager Steven Gerrard did not give reasons for the omission of the Nigeria international at his post-match conference.
This website understands that Aribo missing the game had nothing to do with a potential exit from Rangers before the close of the transfer window as he was not selected due to a knock he picked up in training before the fixture versus Arsenal.
The former Charlton Athletic star is hoping to shake off the knock and rejoin his teammates in training sometime this week.
Aribo dreams of playing in the English Premier League and he might actualize his ambition on the back of his fine performances for Rangers since joining the club in the summer of 2019.
The versatile midfielder has entered the final two years of his contract with the Light Blues.
