Chelsea product Aina wants Premier League return but Torino keen to offer him improved deal
Published: July 19, 2021
Chelsea academy product Ola Aina is very much in the plans of new Torino manager Ivan Jurić for the upcoming campaign, allnigeriasoccer.com understands.
The Nigeria international was loaned out to Fulham for the whole of last season but has returned to his parent club after the Cottagers higher-ups decided against signing all the players loaned in due to their demotion to the Championship.
Aina started Torino's 11-0 rout of Obermais Merano on Sunday and capped off an impressive performance with a brilliant close range strike in the first half.
Torino boss Jurić is expected to line-up his team in a 3-4-2-1 formation in 2021-2022, with Aina playing as the left-sided midfielder, same role he played in the rout of Obermais Merano.
With the wing-back's contract expiring in June 2023, Torino are keen to tie him down to a new improved deal in an attempt to ward off clubs interested in his signature.
However, the Super Eagles star wants to come back to England and play in the Premier League, putting Torino's plans for him in jeopardy.
Aina has recorded 69 appearances in all competitions for Torino since moving there on an initial loan deal in 2018-2019, before earning himself a permanent transfer the following season.
