Left-footed 21-year-old Nigeria-eligible defender given more minutes by Tottenham coach It is inevitable that Nigeria-eligible defender Tobi Omole will make his professional debut for Tottenham Hotspur in the coming months if he is not loaned out by the Premier League club.

The 21-year-old was given more minutes as Tottenham registered a 3-1 win over MK Dons in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday night, coming off the bench to replace Oliver Skipp in the 77th minute.

Omole made his non-competitive debut for the north London club versus Leyton Orient, before making his starting debut against Colchester United on July 21.

A left-footer, he is one of the most versatile players in Tottenham Hotspur's youth team ranks as he is comfortable playing as a left-back, central defender and defensive midfielder.

New Tottenham manager Nuno Espirito Santo is not afraid to blood young players, look no further than 20-year-old central midfielder Owen Otasowie who made seven appearances for Wolverhampton Wanderers first team with the Portuguese tactician in charge at the West Midlands club.

Spurs won their second consecutive pre-season game thanks to goals from Dele, Heung-Min Son and Lucas Moura - the same players who found the net against Colchester United.

Omole is entering his second season at Spurs following his release by Arsenal at the end of the 2019-2020 campaign.
