Allnigeriasoccer.com can confirm reports in the Turkish media that Sivasspor are on the brink of announcing the signing of 2016 Olympics bronze medalist Azubuike Okechukwu.
Sivasspor have reached an agreement with Super Lig rivals Istanbul Basaksehir FK for the transfer of the central midfielder, a deal that will see him remain on loan at the Braves for the entirety of the 2021-2022 campaign.
Having fully recovered from a long-term injury that limited his appearances to nine from a possible 53 in all competitions last season, Okechukwu is seeking regular game time at Sivasspor.
He could be featuring in the group stage of the Europa Conference League if Sivasspor see off their opponents in the third qualifying and playoff rounds.
Okechukwu has made 69 Super Lig appearances combined for Yeni Malatyaspor, çaykur Rizespor and Istanbul Başakşehir across four seasons., scoring one goal.
The 24-year-old has also worn the colours of African clubs Bayelsa United (Nigeria) and Pyramids (Egypt).
He links up with Olarenwaju Kayode and Leke James at Sivasspor.
