Chelsea's Nigerian striker joins Racing Genk on four-year deal, subject to medical

Racing Genk and Chelsea have reached a total agreement for Nigerian attacker Ike Ugbo.
The former England U17 international has agreed personal terms with the Limburg club and will likely be heading to Genk mid-week to undergo a medical ahead of his unveiling.
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Ugbo will put pen to paper on a four-year contract with Racing Genk, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2024-2025 season.
The European champions have included a sell-on clause into the deal taking Ugbo to the Belgian Cup winners but didn't negotiate a buyback fee because they are not expected to sign a new center forward in the next two years following the capture of Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan.
Ugbo will slug it out with Super Eagles duo Paul Onuachu and Cyriel Dessers for a place in the Genk starting XI.
During a fourteen-year association with Chelsea, Ugbo took in loan spells at Barnsley, Milton Keynes Dons, Scunthorpe United, Roda JC and Cercle Brugge.
The 22-year-old was Chelsea's top-scoring loanee in 2020-2021 with 16 goals in 32 appearances in the Belgian First Division A.
