Rohr expects 20 players in camp Monday as Leicester, Everton stars arrive; gym training 1700 hours
Published: August 30, 2021Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that five players invited for the Super Eagles upcoming World Cup qualifier against Liberia have reported for international duty.
They are Leicester City duo Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi, Everton winger Alex Iwobi, Kaizer Chiefs glovesman Daniel Akpeyi and Abia Warriors center back Adekunle Adeleke.
Adeleke has been handed a late call-up by the Nigeria Football Federation to make up the numbers as a result of the withdrawal of Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka, who tested positive for Covid-19 last week.
Ndidi went the distance in Leicester's road win vs Norwich City while Iheanacho and Iwobi were second half substitutes for their respective clubs in Premier League matches.
Manager Gernot Rohr is expecting twenty players in camp by the close of business today and a full complement of players on Tuesday, three days before they take to the pitch against Liberia.
All the thirty players named to the roster have been instructed to show up in Lagos, including the seven players named in the reserve list.
The players will have lunch at 1300 hours before hitting the Eko Hotels & Suites gym at 1700 hours.
