Tottenham boss promotes ex-Arsenal starlet of Nigerian descent to first team training
Published: September 04, 2021
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Tottenham Hotspur manager Nuno Espírito Santo is running the rule over former Arsenal starlet of Nigerian descent Tobi Omole during the first international break of the 2021-2022 season.
The Portuguese football tactician has promoted the versatile left-footed central defender to first team training and monitored him at close quarters during Friday's training session held at Tottenham Hotspur Training Centre in Enfield.
Nuno Espírito Santo is without several of his first team players who have been called up for international duty with their respective nations and to make up the numbers he invited some outstanding academy players to train with the first team.
Spurs, who are topping the Premier League table after three rounds, are preparing for their next competitive game - a London derby at Crystal Palace.
It remains to be seen if Omole was included in Tottenham's 25-man squad for the Premier League following the close of the summer transfer window.
For the 2021-2022 season, the Anglo-Nigerian won't be classed as an U21 player as he was born before January 1, 2000, even though he is a homegrown player.
Omole was on the books of Arsenal for six years before he was surprisingly released in the summer of 2020.
The Hale End Academy product has gone the distance in three of the four matches played by Tottenham's development squad in the new season.
