Umar Sadiq nets brace in Almeria's 4-0 win, hits the woodwork from near the center circle Almeria registered a convincing 4-0 road win over Alcorcon on matchday six in a LaLiga SmartBank clash at the Estadio Santo Domingo on Friday night, with former Nigeria U23 international Umar Sadiq getting on the scoresheet twice.

Sadiq pounced on the rebound to open the scoring for the Rojiblancos after Lucas Robertone's effort was blocked in the fifth minute, the ball took a deflection and the Nigerian, quicker than the rest of the players, provided the finish.

Sixteen minutes in, the number nine twisted and turned to get away from the Alcorcon defenders and fired a left-footed strike past goalkeeper Daniel Jimenez for his fourth goal of the season.

Sadiq had a potential opportunity to score a hat-trick in the 37th minute but the goal went down as an own goal as the ball hit the goalkeeper and went in, before striking the woodwork from near the center circle in first half stoppage-time.

Alejandro Pozo added further gloss to the scoreline midway through the second half.

Almeria, who are second in the provisional standings, are at home to Tenerife in their next league game.
