Former Midtjylland coach reveals the best way to stop Racing Genk goal machine Onuachu
Published: September 22, 2021Former Midtjylland manager Brian Priske has admitted that he has a game plan to neutralise Paul Onuachu when his side Antwerp host Racing Genk in a Belgian First Division A clash on Wednesday night.
The current Nigerian Federation Best Performer of the Year is enjoying a rich vein of form, with four goals in his last five matches in the Belgian top-flight.
Priske knows all about the qualities of Onuachu having worked with the striker at Danish side Midtjylland for six years before he was hired by Antwerp.
The 2.01 meters striker brings huge aerial threat so Antwerp must prevent crosses from reaching the Super Eagles star.
"I know Paul well. He's not easy to catch, is he? It has to be done in group," Priske was quoted as saying by Voetbalkrant.
"Then I look at the boys on the flank to get the crosses out, so that he comes into his own much less."
Royal Antwerp are Onuachu's favourite opponents in Belgium, with six goals scored against the club in the league since he moved to the country.
The 27-year-old makes his tenth start in all competitions this season against Royal Antwerp.
