'Looks like Drogba' - Ex-Real Madrid striker hails Osimhen for Ronaldo-esque header
Published: October 20, 2021
Victor Osimhen continued his rich vein of form with a brilliant Ronaldo-esque header that secured all three points for Napoli in a hard-fought 1-0 win over Torino in a Serie A clash on Sunday.
Osimhen's match-winning strike was reminiscent of the remarkable headed goal netted by Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo against Sampdoria during the 2019-2020 season.
The Super Eagles star leapt 2.52m and nodded the ball into the net, four centimeters less than Ronaldo jumped to score for Juventus against Sampdoria.
Former Real Madrid striker Antonio Cassano is wondering why Osimhen's headed goal is not being talked about in the same manner as Ronaldo's.
Speaking to Boboi TV via Mondo Napoli, Cassano said : "For the goals he is making and for the type of athleticism he has, Osimhen looks like Drogba !
"The goal against Torino is another pearl, he alone managed to jump over the crossbar.
"When Ronaldo did it , all the newspapers made headlines with the height reached and a lot of nonsense just to upload it. Osimhen once again led Napoli forward by scoring another fantastic goal".
Since the start of September, Osimhen has tallied eight goals in eight appearances for Napoli.
