Published: October 25, 2021Nigeria Football Federation boss Amaju Pinnick was in England over the weekend and spent quality time with Leicester City's Super Eagles stars Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho.
The football administrator, a member of the FIFA Council, was accompanied on the trip by his wife and three of his kids, who are on half-time break.
Pinnick brought good news regarding the availability of Ndidi for the upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Cape Verde and Liberia.
Today makes it one month since the holding midfielder last played competitively for the Foxes after aggravating a hamstring injury during the 2-2 home draw versus Burnley.
But there is light at the end of the tunnel, with Pinnick indicating that Ndidi may be involved in some capacity in Leicester City's next Premier League clash against Arsenal this coming weekend.
"Our visit was a mere family visit and not official. Recall Wilfred is recuperating from an injury that has kept him out for about 5 weeks, being a very key player for the Super Eagles, we cannot afford to toy with our last two games," Pinnick said in a press release.
"Ndidi has been integral, committed and passionate member of the Super Eagles. The good news is that his second scan came out very good so he start training with his club and possibly play in their next game."
After four matches in Group C of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, Nigeria lead the way with nine points accumulated, two more than second-placed Cape Verde.
