Watford's Fatuga-Dada names Man Utd greats Ronaldo, Rooney, Best as role models growing up
Published: November 01, 2021
2021 Super Falcons invitee Adekite Fatuga-Dada has cited three Manchester United greats in the shape of Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and George Best as her role models growing up.
The Watford FC Women winger was one of the dual-eligible players called up for a Nigeria training camp in July 2021 but didn't attend the camp held in Austria.
Adekite Fatuga-Dada is the longest serving player in the Watford squad having spent the entirety of her career at the Hornets apart from a spell at Arsenal, with whom she won the FA Youth Cup before returning to Vicarage Road in 2015.
She picked up football at a young age after watching her uncle and trying to emulate what he did on the pitch.
"Growing up I supported Manchester United. Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo and George Best [were role models], and when I got a bit older and learned a bit more about women’s football it was people like Rachel Yankey and Kelly Smith who were big role models for me," Fatuga-Dada told Watford's official website.
Fatuga-Dada was nominated for Watford's Goal of the Month for September, an award that was won by Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Dennis.
She has been involved in every single game played by the Golden Girls in the Women's Championship this season, seven in total.
