Osimhen faces at least one month on the sidelines, Inter Milan send message of support
Published: November 22, 2021Through a statement on their official website, Napoli have confirmed that Victor Osimhen will undergo surgery in the coming days and didn't return with the team to Naples following their 3-2 loss to Inter Milan in the Serie A on Sunday evening.
The Nigeria international stayed back because he was under observation by doctors in a hospital in Milan.
Ten minutes into the second half, Osimhen had to be substituted after suffering a terrible injury following a head-to-head collision with Nerazzurri defender Milan Skriniar.
Medical tests confirmed that the number 9 has sustained a fractured eye socket and cheekbone and it is believed that the amount of time he will spend on the sidelines depends on how the surgery and rehabilitation go.
An initial prognosis has suggested that Osimhen could be out of action for at least one month, according to Sky Sport Italia, meaning he will not be at the disposal of manager Luciano Spalletti before the match against Spezia on December 22.
Meanwhile, Inter Milan have sent a message of support to Osimhen following confirmation that he fractured an eye socket and cheekbone.
Through social media, the Nerazzurri wished the Super Eagles striker a speedy recovery and hope to see him out on the pitch again soon.
