2019 Super Eagles invitee joins Efe Ambrose at Scottish Premiership side St Johnstone
Published: November 24, 2021
Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that Scottish Premiership side St Johnstone will confirm the signing of 2019 Super Eagles invitee Viv Solomon-Otabor in the coming days if not hours.
The Birmingham City academy product has ended his search for a new employer after signing a short-term deal with St Johnstone on Wednesday.
The agreement between Solomon-Otabor and the Saints will keep him at McDiarmid Park until the first week of January.
He had his first training session with his new teammates after putting pen to paper ahead of a potential debut against Hibernian this coming Saturday.
Solomon-Otabor links up with Nigeria's 2013 Africa Cup of Nations-winning defender Efe Ambrose at St Johnstone.
The 25-year-old impressed while on trial at Championship outfit Cardiff City in October but the deal fell through at the last minute following the sacking of manager Mick McCarthy.
London-born Solomon-Otabor enjoyed loan spells at Oxford City, Bolton Wanderers, Blackpool and Portsmouth during his time at Birmingham City before a permanent transfer to CSKA Sofia, from where he moved to Wigan Athletic in 2020.
