Young Anglo-Nigerian goalkeeper involved in Arsenal final workout pre-Manchester United
Published: December 01, 2021Young Anglo-Nigerian glovesman Arthur Okonkwo is in contention to be included in the matchday squad in Arsenal's eagerly anticipated Premier League meeting with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Thursday night, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The 20-year-old was involved in the Gunners final workout held at London Colney on Wednesday.
Okonkwo was one of the two young goalkeepers that participated in the session, the other being James Hillson.
England international Aaron Ramsdale is set to keep his position between the sticks vs Manchester United as he was spotted in training today but Okonkwo could climb the pecking order of goalkeepers to be second choice if Bernd Leno is not available for selection.
The Hale End Academy graduate was a reserve option for Arsenal against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium back in August.
Meanwhile, the chances are very slim that Folarin Balogun will be in squad to face the Red Devils as he is currently on U21s duty in the Papa John's Trophy.
One of the striker's objectives next month is to be loaned out to a club where he can get regular playing time for the first team.
