Arsenal coach provides transfer update on Balogun amid Middlesbrough links
Published: January 07, 2022Manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Arsenal will make a transfer decision on Folarin Balogun in the coming days amid speculation linking the center forward with a loan move to Middlesbrough in the January transfer window.
Despite uncertainty surrounding the futures of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Eddie Nketiah at the Emirates Stadium, the Anglo-American-Nigerian starlet is set to head out on loan for the remainder of the season in pursuit of first team football.
Italian transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed earlier this week that Balogun was close to completing his loan move to Boro, with talks progressing and Arsenal prepared to accept the offer.
The 20-year-old was interesting multiple clubs in the Championship plus teams in the
German Bundesliga and French Ligue 1 but it is looking likely that Boro
have won the race for his signature.
Speaking to reporters at Friday's press conference, Arteta said : "With Flo, we will see in the next week or so what is the final decision on that, but for the rest, there is nothing that is new and we’re going to have to live with that until the end of the season."
Balogun has not featured for Arsenal in the Premier League since coming off the bench against Chelsea in August .
