Super Eagles star Moses Simon has sent a message of support to Al Ahly's Egypt defender Akram Tawfik who suffered what is now confirmed to be a serious injury during the first half of Tuesday's Africa Cup of Nations match between the two powerhouses of African football.
Egypt coach Carlos Queiroz made an early change in the 14th minute, bringing in Monem to replace Tawfik.
The Pharaohs number 25 lay on the turf and needed medical assistance after getting injured as he struggled for the ball with Simon.
Tests have confirmed that Tawfik has ruptured the cruciate ligament and has been ruled out of the rest of the football season.
Simon, whose dribbling caused Tawfik to fall and inure himself, said in a video statement via the Super Eagles Instagram page : "Hello, my name is Moses Simon, Nigerian Super Eagles player. I just want to wish the Egyptian player Akram Tawfik all the best.
"I wish you quick recovery, please by strong."

Egypt won't be able to name a new player on their Africa Cup of Nations roster as Tawfik suffered the injury after their first game of the tournament.
