'I'm a no-nonsense defender' - Celtic loanee Osaze fires warning to Belgian Pro League strikers
Published: February 04, 20222019 Nigeria U23 invitee Osaze Urhoghide has fired a warning to Belgian Pro League strikers ahead of a possible debut for KV Oostende by revealing that he is a no-nonsense defender.
Urhoghide completed a loan move to KV Oostende for the remainder of the season on transfer deadline day in search of regular game time and he's in contention to play his first game for his temporary employer having been named in the provisional squad to face Oh Leuven on Saturday.
The 21-year-old has not been involved in a league game since April 24, 2021 when he came off the bench for Sheffield Wednesday against Middlesbrough in the EFL Championship.
Discussing his attributes, Urhoghide highlighted that he is a tough defender who will do all the dirty work for KV Oostende.
"I am a no-nonsense defender, I'd like to get tight on the ball then tackling as well," Urhoghide said to KVO's YouTube channel.
"I just really work hard for the team, doing what other people don't enjoy doing, so I'll be doing what others don't really enjoy. There will be a lot of hard work and tackling."
Dutch-born Urhoghide, who is also eligible for England, trained with Nigeria's Olympic national team before an U23 AFCON qualifier against Libya three years ago.
