Almeria's Super Eagles striker registers double figures for goals for third season in a row
Published: February 05, 2022Super Eagles attacker Umar Sadiq has now registered double figures for goals for the third season in a row after his injury time strike helped Almeria defeat Ibiza 2-0 in a Spanish LaLiga SmartBank match at the Estadio de los Juegos Mediterráneos on Friday.
Making his first start for the Rojiblancos in 2022, the former Rangers and AS Roma player won a penalty for Almeria in the 56th minute when goalkeeper álex Domínguez touched the striker's right foot as he attempted to make a save after spilling the ball initially.
The referee interpreted it as a penalty and from the resultant kick, Ramazani put the ball into the net to make it 1-0.
Three minutes into stoppage time, Sadiq sealed the victory as he finished off a counter attacking move with a composed finish, taking his tally for the season to 10 goals in all competitions in the process.
The 2016 Olympics bronze medalist scored 17 goals in the 2019-2020 season at Partizan Belgrade and finished with 28 in the 2020-2021 campaign and that tally includes a hat-trick vs Ponferradina and braces against Javor-Matis, Alavés and Real Oviedo.
