Through their official website, Major League Soccer club Minnesota United have announced that 2022 MLS SuperDraft pick Tani Oluwaseyi has signed a one-year contract with options from 2023-2025.
The 21-year-old Oluwaseyi is eligible to represent the Super Eagles as he was born in Abuja.
The center forward has been selected from St. John's University, for whom he made 49 appearances and scored 20 goals across four years and his best scoring year was in 2019 with eleven goals.
He twice earned First Team All-BIG EAST honors at St. John's and earned BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year honors as a sophomore in 2019.
In his first words after putting pen to paper, Oluwaseyi said : "It's a dream come true, to say the least. This what I’ve dreamt of since I was five and I'm just excited to get going and continue to get better every day.
"My goal is to contribute to the team in any way I can. I don't know what that looks like at the moment but whatever it is, I'm ready to go, I'm ready to provide whatever the team needs."
Oluwaseyi, who will occupy an international spot on Minnesota United's roster, has been allocated the number 16 shirt.
