'You'll see tomorrow' - Ghana coach insists his attackers can score ahead of Nigeria clash
Published: March 28, 2022Ghana national team coach Otto Addo has insisted that his misfiring strikers can score goals, a day before their 2022 World Cup playoff against regional rivals Nigeria at the National Stadium in Abuja.
The Black Stars have been in poor goalscoring form with only three goals in their last four competitive matches, same number of goals scored by the Super Eagles in one game at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
At club level, no attack-minded Ghana player comes close to the goalscoring stats of Nigeria's three center forwards Odion Ighalo, Umar Sadiq and Victor Osimhen.
In the first leg in Kumasi, it was evident that the Black Stars had problems in attack as they failed to convert the few chances that came their way.
Addo is aware that scoring an away goal could be key in qualifying to the 2022 World Cup with the first leg ending goalless.
Asked if it gives him a scare that his strikers have not been scoring a lot of goals, Addo replied : "Our attackers can score, you will see tomorrow.
"I think we had some chances, some situations where the last pass was missing and if we improve that you'll see us scoring but nobody knows."
Addo has reiterated that Nigeria are not the favourite team heading into tomorrow's fixture and made reference to the first leg, where both teams shared the spoils.
"To be honest I don't think we are better than Nigeria and I don't think they are better than us, it was an equal game, I think everybody saw and it will be very, very equal tomorrow.
"I can't say that they are favorites, we are favorites but what I can say is if we shoot one goal it hurts more than if they should."

The second leg match between Nigeria and Ghana will kickoff at 1800 hours on Tuesday, March 29.
