Burnley manager responds to transfer links to former Chelsea winger Victor Moses
Burnley reportedly attempted to strengthen their squad last month by bringing in former Chelsea winger Victor Moses from Spartak Moscow but the proposed move did not happen.

The Premier League did not sanction the transfer of the former Nigeria international as it would affect the sporting integrity of the competition.

UEFA and FIFA earlier confirmed that teams could register footballers from the Russian and Ukrainian Leagues after war broke out between the two neighbors.

Foreign players who play in the two countries were allowed to suspend their contracts until June and play for another team elsewhere.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche was asked to tell his side of the story during his pre-match press conference before the Premier League clash against Manchester City.

Dyche told reporters : "There isn't any side of the story to tell at the moment. We're just linked with lots of players, lots of options when there are options.

"It's just another player we have been linked with, another situation we have been linked with."

Moses has started each of the four matches played by the Spartak Moscow in the Russian Premier League in 2022.

The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner signed a new deal in February 2022, keeping him at the Red and Whites until the end of the 2023-2024 season.
