Cardiff City ready to battle with Fulham for 14-goal Nigeria-eligible winger
Published: April 20, 2022Cardiff City are prepared to do battle with Premier League-bound Fulham for the signing of Nigeria-eligible winger Dapo Afolayan, according to reports.
Bolton News says the Bluebirds have joined the Cottagers on the trail of the Bolton Wanderers star.
Cardiff City sent one of their talent spotters to run the rule over the Anglo-Nigerian during Bolton Wanderers' 3-1 win against Accrington Stanley and he didn't disappoint the scout, having netted his fourteenth goal of the season.
Afolayan has excelled in the League One this season, with a hand in 18 goals (12 goals, 6 assists) from forty two appearances, leading to interest in his services from a plethora of clubs in the Championship.
With Bolton Wanderers not in contention to be promoted this season, a move to the Championship would represent a step up in the career of Afolayan.
The Chelsea academy product spent three years with West Ham United and scored on his debut for the Hammers in a fourth round win over Doncaster Rovers in the Emirates FA Cup.
Afolayan's contract with Bolton Wanderers runs out on June 30, 2024.
