Oyedele on target for Manchester United Youth in 6-0 win against Newcastle United
Published: April 23, 2022
Manchester United thrashed Newcastle United 6-0 at Trafford Training Centre in Carrington on Saturday afternoon to record their third win in four matches in the U18 Premier League.
Poland U18 international of Nigerian descent Maximillian Oyedele entered the game as a substitute in the 63rd minute for his nineteenth league appearance of the season.
Omari Forson's 15th minute strike separated the two teams at the break but the home team showed no mercy to the opponents in the second half, scoring five goals without reply.
Barely two minutes after coming off the bench, Oyedele profited from a mix up in the Magpies defence to score his side's fourth goal and put them in complete control of the game.
The central midfielder took his tally to four for the Red Devils youth teams this term with his strike.
United's other scorers in the second half were Sam Mather, Forson, Joe Hugill and Ethan Ennis.
Four matches to the end of the season, Manchester United have no chance of catching up with their city rivals Manchester City who lead the way in the U18 Premier League North with 52 points accumulated.
