Ahead of Wednesday night's Europa League showpiece against Eintracht Frankfurt, Rangers Hall of Famer Lorenzo Amoruso namechecked Joe Aribo as he discussed the Light Blues players who have impressed him in the Europa League.
The former Rangers captain noted that he has been left impressed by Aribo in the middle of the park.
The versatile Nigeria international may be required to feature as a false nine against the German opponents as Kemar Roofe is not match fit though he has seemingly recovered from a knee problem.
Aribo is always deployed as a defensive midfielder while on international duty with the Super Eagles but has shone this season at club level when asked to fill in as a false nine, attacking midfielder or right winger.
Speaking to Italian sports daily Gazzetta dello Sport, via UEFA's official website, Amoruso said on Rangers players : "Tavernier has been devastating in Europe. He is the perfect right-back for modern football.
"Ryan Kent is also very good. I also like Aribo and Kamara in the middle."
Including the qualifying rounds, Aribo has been involved in every single game played by Rangers in the Europa League, starting fourteen games out of a possible sixteen.
