Published: May 30, 2022
In its latest weekly post, CIES Football Observatory has presented the 100 footballers who have not yet celebrated their 20th birthday who gained the most playing experience during the first semester of the year.
Only one Nigeria-eligible player in the shape of Udinese's Italy U21 international Destiny Udogie managed to crack the list.
Aged 19 years and 183 days today, the versatile fullback is tenth in the rankings after logging 1585 minutes.
The rankings were established according to the experience capital method, which takes into consideration minutes played in official games and their sporting level.
The top five players under the age of 20 who gained the most experience since the start of 2022 is composed of Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham, Barcelona pair Pablo Gavi and Pedri González, Olympique Lyonnais' Castello Lukeba and PSG's Nuno Mendes.
Udogie started 29 of the 35 matches he played for Udinese in the recently concluded season and directly participated in eight goals (5 goals, 3 assists).
