Opinion - Manchester United's interest in Ebiowei : Good or bad career choice?

Nigeria eligible attacking midfielder Malcolm Ebiowei has been linked with moves to top clubs in England with Italian transfer market guru Fabrizio Romano reporting that Manchester United are among the frontrunners for the Derby County player.

However, will the youngster be making the right career choice if he moves to Old Trafford to join the Red Devils?

Every young player in the world needs one thing in particular for their development, game time.
Manchester United is still early in their squad rebuild as new manager Erik ten Hag has not even managed a game yet.
It would take something extraordinary for the Dutch manager to sign Ebiowei and thrust him into the limelight so early in his career.
Bearing in mind that the likes of Shola Shoretire, Anthony Elanga and even big money signing Jadon Sancho are in line for game-time, it looks extremely slim that Ebiowei would get game-time if he moved to Manchester United.
It is most likely that Ebiowei would be shipped out on loan if he eventually makes the move to Old Trafford. However, loans work differently for players.
Youngsters need stability and it is better to play for a lower team regularly and showcase the talent for a bigger move rather than being shuttled around yearly on loan.

The likes of Leeds, Nottingham Forest, Huddersfield and even Wolves are good clubs who have a good record in developing youngsters.
