Published: June 15, 2022
Transfermarkt on Wednesday, June 15 updated the market values of players in the English Premier League.
The German transfer market website has ranked the top thirty most valuable players in the English top-flight with only one Nigeria-eligible player making the cut.
Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is joint 23rd in the ranking along with Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford, Chelsea wing-back Reece James and Liverpool duo Fabinho and Diogo Jota.
The aforementioned players are rated at sixty million euros each (approximately N25.9 billion in Nigerian currency).
The top five most expensive players in the Premier League are Phil Foden, Harry Kane, Mohamed Salah, Bruno Fernandes and Kevin De Bruyne.
Despite an injury plagued season, Ndidi racked up 31 appearances in all competitions and scored twice in Europe against Legia Warsaw and Randers.
Ndidi is the second most valuable Nigerian player behind Victor Osimhen, ranks number one among all players at Leicester City and the fourth most expensive defensive midfielder in the world.
The 25-year-old has two years left on his contract with Leicester City, whom he joined from Racing Genk in 2017.
