Five Nigerian players who deserve moves to higher-ranked clubs after impressive performances
Published: June 19, 2022There has already been a lot of activity in the European football transfer market ahead of the 2022/2023 season. Since last season, numerous Nigerian players have been linked with moves away from their current clubs, while others have stated that they intend to remain.
Many Super Eagles players excelled for their clubs last season in various positions. Whether that be in the striking position where lots of goals were scored or in other positions where their responsibility was carried out to the letter.

Taiwo Awoniyi
Nottingham Forest has been linked with a transfer for the former Liverpool man after his impressive performance for Union Berlin in the German Bundesliga.
His 15 goals and 2 assists in 31 appearances for Berlin helped the club to a reputable 5th placed finish in the Bundesliga.
Cyriel Dessers
His loan to Feyenoord from Genk was incredibly successful. His goals helped the club reach the final of the Europa Conference League before succumbing to a defeat to Jose Mourinho's Roma.
Paul Onuachu
The Genk striker has been in incredible goalscoring form since he arrived at the club. He registered 21 goals in 35 Jupiler Pro League appearances.
Onuachu has far outgrown the Belgian league for a while now and his performances deserve a move to a better-ranking team.
Sadiq Umar
Almeria won automatic promotion to the La Liga Santander last season thanks to the efforts of the former AS Roma striker.
His 18 goals and 12 assists in 36 La-Liga 2 appearances showed his clinical finishing and ability to create for teammates.
Sadiq has shown qualities that can be utilised in better-ranked teams and is deserving of a move to a higher-level team.
Emmanuel Dennis
Despite Watford's relegation from the English Premier League, Dennis had a stellar season by the standards of the club.
The former Club Brugge footballer had 16 goal involvements which is outstanding considering the level of chances he got. The Nigerian international is deserving of a better-ranking team this summer.
