Raphinha's links with Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs : 4 reasons why Leeds should target Nigerian as replacement
Published: June 20, 2022
The transfer window is in full flow and the wheels are starting to turn as players return from international duties to sort out their futures with their clubs.
The takeover of Chelsea by a consortium led by American billionaire Todd Boehly has been completed and the focus has shifted to the rebuild of the squad which is in severe need of reinforcements especially after senior defenders like Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen left on free transfers.
The right-wing position has also been a problematic issue for some time and Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has reported that London trio Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for Leeds United's Brazilian winger Raphinha.

The London giants have also been in contact with the player who reportedly has a 65 million euros price tag set by his club.
However if his transfer to any of the club goes through, which player should Leeds United target as a replacement?
Allnigeriasoccer.com believes the club should target Nigerian starlet Akinkunmi Amoo as a replacement for Raphinha and four reasons for this are highlighted below.
Profile
Akinkunmi Amoo is very similar to Raphinha profile-wise. He is a 1 vs 1 specialist who has the ability to create opportunities in isolated areas against the opposition full-back.
Club Philosophy
Leeds is usually a team with a tight budget which makes them use their creativity to outsmart the market.
The club loves to buy players at a young age for a minimal fee and nurture their talents before moving them on for better fees. This way, they benefit from the player's qualities whilst also making a healthy profit.
Kalvin Phillips, Patrick Bamford and even Raphinha himself fall into this category. The Brazilian was signed for 18 million Euros in 2020 and is now worth 45 million Euros according to transfermarkt - a healthy profit if a move materialises.
Amoo at 20 years old is quite young and could develop into a world-class player with his vast array of outrageous abilities.
Versatility
Amoo is quite versatile and is capable of playing as a right-winger, attacking midfield and side midfielder.
This is one of the strengths of Raphinha and Nigeria's Amoo could slot in seamlessly without too many problems.
Explosiveness
One of the main characteristics of a modern winger is explosiveness. These short bursts of 10, 15 and 20 metres could result in the decider when a game is very tight.
This ability makes explosive wingers a rare commodity thus the high reward if a talent like Amoo is acquired at a young age.
While it is not yet known if Leeds would be looking to sign Amoo, allnigeriasoccer thinks that the FC Copenhagen man is a win-win situation for the English club and every possibility to bring him to England should be exploited.
