Three La Liga clubs interested in Arsenal's Anglo-Spanish-Nigerian midfielder
Published: June 24, 2022Miguel Azeez has been linked with a departure from Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
According to Sky Sports, three La Liga clubs are interested in signing the Hale End Academy product and one of those clubs is thought to be newly promoted Girona.
Azeez is angling for a move away from the Emirates Stadium - be it permanent or temporary - due to a lack of first team opportunities.
Arsenal's recent capture of Fabio Vieira from Porto will push the Anglo-Spanish-Nigerian starlet further down the pecking order of midfielders.
Per the report, the Gunners higher-ups are planning to hold talks with Azeez before deciding whether to retain him as a fringe player in the first team next season or loan him out to continue his development.
The 19-year-old spent the first half of last season on loan at League One club Portsmouth, making ten appearances in total before he was recalled in the January transfer window.
Azeez has not featured for Arsenal's first team since making his professional debut in a Europa League clash versus Dundalk in December 2020.
