Villarreal target move for Super Eagles star as replacement for West Ham-linked striker

There are no shortage of suitors for Almeria's Nigeria international centre-forward Umar Sadiq.

Over the  last few weeks, the 2016 Rio Olympics bronze medalist has been linked with possible moves to Ajax Amsterdam and Benfica.

According to information from Relevo, Sadiq is also on the radar of 2021 Europa League winners Villarreal this summer.

The Yellow Submarine are eyeing the Nigerian as a possible replacement for cap-tied Nigerian-born Netherlands international Arnaut Danjuma, who is drawing interest from Premier League club West Ham United.

The prospective sale of Danjuma would boost Villarreal's transfer kitty, making funds available for the signing of Sadiq.

Danjuma wants to move on to pastures new following Villarreal's failure to qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League.

La Liga new boys Almeria have set an asking price for the 25-year-old Sadiq, valuing him at 25 million euros (approximately N10.96 billion).

Sadiq has scored an impressive 41 goals and registered 19 assists in 81 matches since joining the Rojiblancos from Partizan Belgrade in 2020.
