Done deal : Sporting Lisbon loan out former Liverpool centre-back Ilori
Published: July 23, 2022Through their official website, Liga Portugal Bwin side F.C. Paços de Ferreira have announced the signing of former Liverpool centre-back Tiago Ilori.
The ex-Portugal U23 international will represent Paços de Ferreira for the entirety of the 2022-2023 season on loan from Sporting Lisbon.
A product of the Sporting CP Academy, Ilori returned for a second spell at the Green and Whites in 2019 but has found it difficult establishing himself as a first team regular, leading to loan spells at Lorient and Boavista.

The Anglo-Portuguese-Nigerian defender made his senior debut for Sporting CP in the 2011-2012 season and three seasons later transferred to Liverpool, where he spent four years.
Game time was hard to come by at the Premier League giants and he was shipped off on loan to Granada, Bordeaux and Aston Villa, before earning a permanent transfer to Reading.
Ilori has several caps for Portugal's youth teams and was part of the squad that participated in the 2016 Olympic Games.
