Done deal : Timmy, brother of ex-Nigeria target Tammy Abraham, joins Walsall
Published: July 26, 2022EFL League Two club Walsall on Tuesday completed the signing of Timmy Abraham, the younger brother of onetime Nigeria Football Federation target and Chelsea academy product Tammy Abraham.
Timmy Abraham has joined the Saddlers on a one-year contract following a successful trial, catching the eye in a number of pre-season friendlies.
Abraham had been searching for a new club, after the expiry of his contract at Premier League new boys Fulham at the end of last month.
The 21-year-old reunites with Walsall head coach Michael Flynn, with whom he worked with last season during a loan spell at fellow League Two club Newport County, where he made seventeen appearances in all competitions and found the net on three occasions.
In his first words as a player of Walsall, Abraham told the club's official website : "I’m very happy to be able to come here and play for this team and put this shirt on.
"I’ve enjoyed integrating with the boys, getting to know the environment and the coaching staff.
"I love running in behind, I love working hard for the team, scoring goals and assisting and hopefully, here is where I start that period of consistent goals and assists. I’m very excited and looking forward to it."
Apart from Newport County, Abraham embarked on three other loan moves to Bristol Rovers, Plymouth Argyle and Raith Rovers during his five-year association with Fulham.
